Schererville is a town in St. John Township, Lake County, Indiana. Long before the foundation of the United States, this area was known as the Crossroads, due to the Native American trails that intersected here. Soon after, they were the crossroads of wagons for the travelers heading west. One settler, Nicholas Scherer, stopped here, and founded the community that was to be known by his name; Schererville.
